He heads the Gas engineering group of Schlumberger in India. He is also the SME in gas group at Schlumberger and Principal Trainer for the membrane-based technologies. Before joining Schlumberger, Srinivas worked with industry giants like GE Energy in gasification and IGCC domain and with UOP as Technology Specialist -Gas Processing & Hydrogen groups.Srinivashad an overall 15+ years of experience in chemical industry and more than 12 years in Oil and Gas Industry. Srinivas earned a B. Tech in Chemical Engineering and a Master’s degree in Plant Design from NITK Surathkal.

Based on his expertise in refinery process technology, Mr. Baerends has been active in refinery and gas processing projects from concept studies to start-up support, with an emphasis on front-end study and basic engineering work. His experience covers the great majority of refining processes including Hydrocracking, Desulfurization, Catalytic Reforming, Isomerisation, Hydrogen production (reforming or gasification), FCC (including residue FCC, propylene FCC) Etherification, Alkylation and Sulfur Recovery.
Although based in the Netherlands, Mr. Baerends has worked out of several Fluor offices around the world, including Aliso Viejo, South Africa, UK and Abu Dhabi. His hobbies include military history and collecting ship models.
